India unlikely to implement GST on April 1

It is unlikely that India will be ready to implement its new goods and service tax (GST) scheduled for April 1, amid growing disputes between officials at the state and national level. It is now expected that the GST will be introduced in the next fiscal year. October 1 has been suggested as a new effective date. It is still not known what rates will be used for the GST.
